Every domain account on Adult Virtual Hosting network has
its own UNIQUE IP address. This fact alone makes your web hosting
service with us a higher quality product than over 80% of the
other virtual hosting providers on the net. Your own unique IP
address makes accessibility to your site and server ABSOLUTE
from any point on the net. No matter what other systems on the
net are doing, your site will always be accessible on the net
via its IP. Most Internet Service Providers capture this address
from Internic's root nameserver and cache them on their local
nameservers to be more efficient. The only thing you need to
remember is that if we upgrade or change your domain name on
our servers, it can take some time for ISP's to get updated with
that information.
Please Note*
If you ever need to access your server and cannot access it by
domain name, simply type in the IP address in place of the domain,
you will reach the server as long as your ISP has a stable connection
to the net and our machines are up.
How to find
your IP address viaTelnet
Looking up your IP via telnet is VERY EASY. All you need to do
is log on to your server via telnet (or any ISP's server for
that matter), and type in the "nslookup" command as
follows
nslookup mydomainname.com
You will see
the IP for that domain name show up in response.
Remember you can look up any domain name's IP using this command,
provided that the authority handling that top level domain (.org,
.com, .net, .to, .edu, are examples of top level domains) are
able to respond to the request, of which most, including Internic,
which is by far the largest authority, are.
